Modern Cinderella

By A Tragic Modern Cinderella

👠👠❤️💔

Please note that this poem in no way represents my feelings, but is all fictional

 These soulful eyes,
A waterfall of tears.
Pillow soaked through,
Trying to please the peers.
Follow the path of your heart, they say,
I still have to overcome my fears.
Trying to ignore these questions,
But the feeling still leers.

In every aspect, every direction,
I end up feeling alone.
Never praise or acknowledge me,
Still I work to the bone.

Broken inside and outside,
Work is my priority.
Like slavery to a slave,
Yet I value my integrity.

For a mother I got a master,
Its my dignity that they are harming.
This orphan is just seeking love.
But how much longer can I wait for my Prince Charming?
